ABOUT MANDY
So a bit about me… On graduating from Harrow College of Art with a B.A. Hons Degree, I have worked as a freelance illustrator and artist for the past 25 years, in both London and Los Angeles.
My work, whilst unique in style, spans in diversity of clients and sectors, incorporating books, advertising, design, editorial, press, greetings cards, posters, stationery and corporate. I have produced several fully illustrated books, as well as numerous book jackets, with clients ranging internationally from Chronicle Books and Harper Collins, to Oxford University Press and Penguin Books. I have also worked on many editorial and press publications including The Sunday Times, The Independent, Mail on Sunday and Condé Nast publications House & Garden, Elle and Traveller.
Favourite advertising projects have included a large national re-launch campaign for Yankee Candle, USA, a fun interactive tourism promotion for the Yadkin Valley Wine region in North Carolina, and a national Holiday campaign for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, USA. I have also worked on several corporate projects, including annual reports for Xstrata, one of the world’s largest mining companies.
In contrast to my published work, ‘Little Bits of Life’ unites my painting and writing on the thoughts, passions, dreams and fears of the imaginary ‘nameless two’. I have held many selling exhibitions in London and throughout the UK, with a diverse cross-section of clientele from the Duke of Bedford and Patrick Lichfield, to TV presenter Jonathan Ross.
I also accept private commissions, my main medium being oil on canvas.
My influences come through many channels, from vivid dreams to everyday life, and are filtered into little memory pots that I can dip into, creating a world suspended between dream and reality.
I have a passion for animals, and my furry sidekick Bea, a Hungarian Puli dog, now has her own little career in modelling, with clients including Sony and HSBC!
I hope you enjoy sharing a little piece of my world…
